What:
We will honor undergraduate students who graduated in academic year 2024-2025 with a GWS major or minor or a Social Justice minor, as well as graduate students who completed the GWS concentration in academic year 2024-2025. We will also present the GWS Graduate Prize, Undergraduate Prize, Graduate Completion Award, and Mary B. Bialas Award to this year's winners.
This year's
Civic Engagement, Community Service, and Community Organizing (CECSCO) honorees are UIC alumnae Jenine Wehbeh and Nora Flangan
- two incredible educators who will share with us their visions for liberatory education and reflections on what feminist, anti-racist education can offer in this moment. The CECSCO Award was created in 2009 to recognize UIC alumnae who have made a difference in the lives of women, advanced racial, gender or social justice causes, or advocated for rights and respect for LGBTQIA people.
