RCR Workshop Series for Postdocs and Faculty

The workshops are open to any interested postdoctoral scientist, mentor, staff, faculty member, or senior graduate student, but the workshops should only be attended by students that have previously completed the GC 501 course. If you have any questions about the RCR Workshop Series for Postdocs and Faculty, please contact the Office of Research Integrity.

The RCR Workshop Series for Postdoctoral Scholars and Faculty was designed to address the National Institutes of Health (NIH) RCR training requirements (NOT-OD-10-019 and NOT-OD-22-055) for NIH grant awardees and applicants. If you would like to include this workshop in your NIH application, a template is available for download. NIH Awards and Applications that require RCR training include D43, D71, F05, F30, F31, F32, F33, F34, F37, F38, K01, K02, K05, K07, K08, K12, K18, K22, K23, K24, K25, K26, K30, K99/R00, KL1, KL2, R25, R36, T15, T32, T34, T35, T36, T37, T90/R90, TL1, TU2, and U2R, among others. The workshop also meets the National Science Foundation (NSF) training requirements (PAPPG 23-1) for faculty and senior investigators.

The RCR Workshop Series for Postdoctoral Scholars and Faculty was recently revised to address the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Rigor and Reproducibility (R&R) training requirements (NOT-OD-20-033 and NOT-020-090) for NIH grant awardees and applicants. Sessions that could count toward R&R Training are denoted with a ‡ following the title. More information from the NIH on R&R training can be found on the NIH FAQ. If you would like to include this workshop in your NIH application, a template is under development. The Learning Management System (LMS) is a UIC web-based tool intended for educating investigators and research staff on research ethics, policy and procedure. To register for a course in the LMS, create an account on the LMS website .

  1. Go to the UIC Learning Management System: http://www.uictraining.org
  2. Login following instructions in table below:
    If you have previously enrolled in the learning management system, do not register again. Please follow instructions below. If you have forgotten username or password click on password retrieval and follow instructions.

3.      Go to Course Catalog from the menu bar on the left.

  • Check “Responsible Conduct in Research” and click on Browse Selected Categories.
  • A list of avaiable sessions will show up
  • Click on the session you would like to register
  • Click on Enroll.

The information for accessing the Zoom Session will be available to you after you register in the Learning Management System (LMS).

  1. Login to the LMS: http://www.uictraining.org.
  2. Under “My Current Courses”, the specific session you wish to attend should be listed, e.g. RCR S38 Session 38 – 3/10/2021 click “Details”.
  3. The “Course”, specific RCR Workshop, details will show up including a link to the Zoom link: “Zoom Meeting Information”. Click that link to gain access to the Workshop.
