This event is an approved event under Civil Service Policy and Rules, Rule 11.12. Employees may be released from work to attend a session, University operations permitting, and subject to prior supervisor approval.

Questions submitted prior to May 29 have been given to the panelists. Questions submitted after May 29, will be answered if time allows on the day of the forum. If not enough time is allotted, answers will be posted on the Staff Advisory Council website www.sac.uic.edu
Topic 1: State Universities Civil Service System
Please submit any question regarding employment in the civil service system such as topics involving senority, bumping rights, reemployment register, disablitiy and layoff.
Topic 2: UIC Human Resources
Please submit any questions regarding changing jobs at UIC, classification, compensation, benefits, time off and leaves, employee grievance process, employment policy and rules
Topic 3: State Universities Retirement System
Please submit any questions regarding elgibility for retirment, filing or when to file for retirement, cost of living increase, changes in legislation that affect retirment benefits
Topic 4: Other
Please submit other questions such as reporting of unlawful discrimination and harrasment, dispute and resolution such as dissatisfaction within the job unit, communication differences in the workplace, process of responding to administrative charges, etc.
