UIC Undergraduate Admissions Appeals & Petitions

New Applicants
Please Note: This form is intended for new undergraduate applicants to UIC who want to:

Request a late application (you have not yet submitted an application and the deadline has passed.)
Apply as an undergraduate non-degree student (attending another institution and seeking to take course(s) to fulfill other institution's requirement for graduation) Those with bachelor's degrees seeking to take prerequisite courses for post-graduate work should seek the graduate non-degree application. Those seeking to take a few courses while in a gap year should review our Online Pathways program.

Current Applicants
If you have already applied and/or received a decision, do not use this form. You must use the Application Appeals and Petitions form accessible at the bottom of your application status page. From there, you can do the following:

Appeal a negative admission decision (you have applied but received a notice of denial). Final decisions are rarely reversed, but those appealing should have compelling and new information that was not available at the time of review.
Request a late Intent-to-Enroll You have applied and were offered admission but did not accept offer by May 1 (First Year) or June 1 (Transfer) deadline.
Request a waiver of English proficiency test score (due to exemption policy)
Defer admission to a future term (offered only in cases of Military or extenuating circumstances)
Change major selected on application (applicants or newly-admitted applicants only - not for current UIC students. Changes to another college for newly admitted students is not permitted after June 1st, students should plan on an Intercollege Transfer after first semester of graded work at UIC.)
