Description

Taking place the first Monday of each month, this regular service opportunity allows students to give back while they are on campus. This enables students who don't have the time or resources to serve in other ways to still contribute to community organizations. Projects are usually hands-on and involve making something. Make your Mondays matter!

*Due to the Labor Day holiday on the first Monday of September, this month's program will be held the following Monday.

This month, MMM will support Lawrence Hall, a non-profit service organization that services at risk youth, families and communities. Volunteers supporting this project will be helping create care kits for members of the Lawrence Hall community, putting together hygiene items like soap, deodorant, toothpaste, etc. for the kits. A representative from Lawrence Hall plans to join us for Make Mondays Matter, to share more about the organization and the purpose of the care kits at the beginning of the project.

Volunteers are able to drop in during the service project when they can, but will need to be preregistered for the project in order to attend even for a portion of the event. All volunteers will need to check in upon arrival and show their UIC Daily Pass in order to verify compliance with UIC's COVID policies, and will need to wear a mask throughout their service.

This month's Make Mondays Matter project will take place in the Commuter Student Resource Center, located behind the Wellness Center on the 2 South of Student Center East - you can enter through the doors located behind Circle Burger in the Inner Circle.
