UIC EV WEEK 2 - EV Use Case Input - August 2020
UIC EV WEEK 2 - Breakout Sessions - August 17-20, 2020
Pilots, Programs & Partnerships to Advance Transportation Electrification

The Breakout Sessions build upon the recent EV Pilots, Programs & Partnerships to Advance Transportation Electrification (https://go.uic.edu/UICEVWORKSHOP_PILOTS) workshop panels, held on August 3, and  continue the work of the first two workshops on Transportation Electrification Infrastructure: Technology, Installation & Ownership (https://go.uic.edu/UICEVWORKSHOP_INFRASTRUCTURE), which were held on May 18, June 15, & June 22-26, and Consumers & Social Equity in Transportation Electrification (https://go.uic.edu/UICEVWORKSHOPFEB24), which was held on February 24.

Please review the stakeholder input from both June 22-26 EV Week and the February 24th Breakout Sessions in advance of the Session:

The Breakout Sessions are a critical part of the dialogue for the UIC Workshops on Beneficial Electrification of Transportation (https://go.uic.edu/UICEVWORKSHOP). They bring together stakeholders to brainstorm ideas on challenges, resources and opportunities on the use case assigned, and to come to a consensus on potential pathways/guidelines for the use case.

The following statements are intended to enable discussion and to guide responses across three areas - economic, public policy and stakeholder role considerations.

Economic Considerations
What are some traits of well-designed economic best practices for EV Pilots, Programs & Partnerships? (i.e., business models, economic development opportunities, tariff and rate designs, etc.)

Best Practices & Models / Roles for Utilities, Private Sector & Customers
What are some themes/ traits of well-designed pilots, programs & partnerships for deploying advancing transportation electrification? (i.e., best practices, who should invest in / own it, what form should those investments look like, what to do & what NOT to do, considerations for designing for Illinois, etc.)

Public Policy Considerations
What are some characteristics of best practices for public policy that support pilots, programs and partnerships for advancing transportation electrification? (i.e., champions, stakeholders, partnerships, role of public/private sectors, etc.)

Virtual groups and remote participants will use this digital platform to submit the brainstorming and consensus building work from the Breakout Session. Any additional documents from the sessions should be digitized and submitted to the organizer.

Thank you for your input, ideas, suggestions and we look forward to continuing to identifying pathways to advance Transportation Electrification for the state of Illinois.
