Flames Finish Strong
Flames Finish Strong is a university-wide initiative. UIC knows the pressure that students are under when it comes to finals, and the Flames Finish Strong events aim to curb the anxiety by offering programs to ease the stress.
Over the years, UIC has developed finals week traditions as a way of bringing the campus together and easing the stress of exam time. We also celebrate our graduating students, who will be Forever Flames. UIC Library will have extended hours at various locations, additional shuttles/night ride/walking escort services.
Fall 2023 (Office of Student Success and Belonging):
African American Academic Network (AAAN) – SSB 2800. Tutoring all week from 8:30-5:00pm. Breakfast 12/5 10:00am. Lunch 12/7 11:30am. Dinner 12/4 and 12/6 4:00pm
CHANCE – SSB 2560. Lunch, snacks and fun activities. Lunch 12/4 11am-2pm. Snacks 12/5 1pm-4pm. Lunch 12/6 11am-12pm.
Latin American Recruitment & Educational Services (LARES) – SSB 2640. Snacks and space to study 8:30am-5:00pm. Tutoring for Chemistry 12/4-12/7 11am-4pm. Tutoring for Math 12/4-12/6 11am-4pm and 12/7 9am-12pm.
Native American Support Program (NASP) – SSB 2700. 12/4-12/8 8:30am-5:00pm. Study space, Korean snacks and free copying available.
TRIO – SSB 2180. Lunch and survival kits provided. Jimmy Johns 12/5 11am-2pm. Flaco’s Tacos Wednesday 12/6 11am-2pm.
